We are committed to providing a trustworthy and safe marketplace. All of the items we sell are in clean and working condition. We never sell recalled items and only work with trusted retailers

  • We work directly with the CPSC for guidelines on product safety
  • Every item is inspected for safety and quality. We check that brakes work on strollers, all straps are functioning on applicable products and that no essential pieces are missing from items 
  • We never sell recalled items and are always up-to-date on the latest recalls
  • Each item is wiped down with eco-friendly, disinfectant that is baby and kid safe

How We Inspect Each Product 

All products undergo a thorough safety and quality inspection by our gear experts before they are listed for sale for another family to purchase. 

We have a thorough inspection process at GoodBuy Gear and we inspect every product—even open box items. This means that we open the box to make sure it's safe and functioning for the parent buying it. So, you're basically getting a brand new product, but with our Gear-antee that it is safe and functioning. 

Here’s how that works: 

  1. Check for recalls to ensure there are no safety issues
  2. Verify all parts are present
  3. Wipe down and take detailed photographs before listing 

Once the item has been thoroughly checked and has passed our inspection process, we will list it on our site. You can find the name of the specific gear expert who quality checked your item on the bottom of the label under the barcode. 

Our Response to Recalled Items 

We will never sell recalled items. We have a team that stays up-to-date on all product recalls and technology that flags recalled items to ensure they are never listed on our site. 

We always keep a close eye on the Consumer Product Safety Commission's recall list. In fact, the site is linked to our internal product posting system so items will be flagged if there is an active recall. More details here


Items We Don’t Accept From Sellers 

In addition to never selling recalled items, we do not accept any item deemed unsafe or unfit for use. In the best interest of our customers and families, we do not accept

  • Broken/recalled or otherwise unsafe items 
  • Car seats and car seat bases 
  • Mattresses 
  • Strollers that are more than 10 years old 
  • Items that are outdated or have reached their end of life 

If you do find these items on our site, you will see they are in open box condition from our preferred partners only. 

How We Clean Products 

On top of being thoroughly inspected, each item is cleaned by a gear expert. We wipe down each product with an eco-friendly disinfectant that is baby and kid-safe. 

The bottom line: We only list items on our website that are safe and in good, working and clean condition.

Please note, we are an online consignment store and sell used products. We do our best to inspect and clean each item thoroughly, and list notable damages or staining in the product description and/or photos, so shoppers can make an informed decision.
