Frequently Asked Questions

Is GoodBuy Gear accepting mail-in items at this time?

We are not accepting mail-in items at this time. If you have already recently sent in a mail-in item for resale, the item will still be processed as usual.

Is there a deadline to ship the box?

Yes, if you have already printed a label and packed a box, please ship your items no later than September 2, 2026. Items postmarked after that may not be processed.

Do I have to send in a complete Play Kit?

No. A complete kit (including the Play Guide) will earn you a higher payout, but you can also send a mix of individual Playthings from any kit.

You can also send a partially complete kit, with at least 80% of an original kit's Playthings and its Play Guide. This can be listed as a partial kit for our shoppers, which will earn a higher payout than individual items.

How can I maximize my payout?

Maximize your payout by sending in a complete or partially complete kit, or any of the listed individual Playthings here.

See full Kit contents here.

How is my payout amount determined?

GoodBuy Gear prices an item based on demand, the condition of the item, external third-party data, and historical data we've collected from selling similar items. You can decide if you want to take our recommendation, or set a different price.

We are constantly refining and improving our algorithm to make sure sellers get a fair asking price and buyers get a good buy.

You then get paid out a percent of the resale amount. Lovevery x GoodBuy Gear’s program follows GoodBuy Gear’s typical seller scale:

Selling price is <$49 - You keep 10%

Selling price is $50-$149 - You keep 40%

Selling price is $150-$249 - You keep 50%

Because each item must be sold separately, this scale applies per item/kit, not as a cummulative of your entire shipment.

How and when do I get paid?

You will need to create a seller account with GoodBuy Gear: here.

You’ll find a list of all your transactions, sales, and product listings with the current status when logged into your account once we have received and processed your item(s). Once your piggy bank has a balance of $5 or more you’ll see 3 ways to cash out your balance:

    • Store Credit (GoodBuy Bucks): they never expire! Your GoodBuy Bucks are issued immediately via email and available for use upon receipt of your code. Payouts must be requested within 365 days.

    • Direct Deposit: connect your bank account using our secure payment system. Payouts take 3-7 days business days to show up in your bank. Payouts must be requested within 365 days.

    • Donation: choose a lucky recipient from our list of non-profit partners to donate your balance to.

There is a 3 day window from when a buyer receives an item to when your payout is available to allow us to honor our buyer guarantee. Fee(s) are deducted from your first sale, or subsequent sale(s) if the first sale does not cover the full pick-up or drop-off service fee. Completed transactions that are available for payout are forfeited after 365 days if they are not claimed.

What happens to Playthings you cannot sell?

For items that do not pass our inspection process, we either donate them to families in need and local charities or we recycle and harvest parts where possible.

It's our mission to keep baby and kids gear out of landfills.

Do I need to wrap or pad the Playthings?

We recommend padding or wrapping your Playthings so they aren't damaged during transport, especially when there is extra room in the box such that items can move around. We find paper or plastic grocery bags used as filler or wrapping.

Can I send in more than one box?

Yes, you can send in as many boxes as you'd like. Note each box will need more than 5 Playthings and you will need to fill out the form and shipping label generator for each box.

Can I get my Playthings back if they do not sell?

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate requests to send items back.
