What Goes Into Your Payout
In today’s world, you can sell just about anything pre-loved online. However, doing your own reselling comes with a few contingencies including: taking the time to research the items you’re selling to set a reasonable price, haggling with buyers (and potentially getting ripped off) and meeting up with sketchy people from Facebook.
If the idea of selling your own gear stresses you out or you just don’t have the time for it, that’s where we come in.
In order to make good on our promise of making it as easy as possible for parents like you to participate in the resale economy, we do all the work for you. We take a percentage of the sale price to cover our cost of operating which goes towards picking up your gear, quality checking it, taking photos, recommending pricing based on our algorithm (which you get to approve) and listing your gear for sale with our awesome community of parents nationwide.
Our team also handles all buyer communications and we even neatly package and ship your items to their new home. Did we mention you don’t need to lift a finger after handing over your gear?
How it Works
We're here to help you make the best bang for your buck (really!). Here's an inside look at all the goodness that goes into selling your gear and final payout.
1. We Pick Up Your Gear
Select a day and time that works for your busy schedule and we will pick up your gear from your doorstep (you don’t even need to be home). If you schedule a time for us to pick up your gear, a $10 transportation fee will be deducted from your first payout once your gear sells.
You can also drop your items off at your nearest GoodBuy Garage during business hours. Drop-offs are FREE.
2. We Sell Your Gear
Once we receive your gear, we do all the work to process it.
This includes:
- Quality checking the items for safety and functionally
- Wiping down the gear for cleanliness
- Taking professional photos and writing descriptions before listing them for sale with our community of parents
- Recommending pricing based on our resale calculator (you get to approve), so you get the maximum payout
We also handle all of the buyer communications, so you can focus on more important things. Once your items sell, we do all the work to make sure they get to their new loving home. You don’t have to lift a finger.
3. You Get Paid
The more your items are worth, the more you will make. Once your items sell you earn up to 85% of the sale price. You can then cash out your balance through direct deposit, store credit or donate funds to one of our amazing non-profit partners.
We treat every item we accept for sale with care. This means that every product, whether an UPPAbaby stroller or a previously cherished toy, takes an equal amount of time and effort to process.
If you’re ready to start making money on your kid’s unused gear, schedule a pickup or drop-off today.
If you want to do the work to sell the gear yourself, use our payout estimator to price your item. Either way, our goal is to keep good gear going ‘round—whether that’s through our service or not.
