As parents, we know how frustrating it can be to figure out exactly what you need for your little human. On top of that, kids grow out of their gear quickly, leaving you with a pile of clutter in your home and a hole in your pocket. We know this from personal experience: GoodBuy Gear was born out of a personal pain point experienced by our founders, Denver moms Kristin Langenfeld and Jess Crothers. Kristin and Jess grew frustrated with the archaic process that existed for buying and selling used kid items - especially bigger-ticket items like strollers, double strollers, car seats and bassinets, where quality really matters - so they did something about it. We’re now the leading online marketplace for secondhand baby and kid gear.
Before any piece of baby gear or kid gear is listed for sale on goodbuygear.com, it is quality checked and photographed by Goodbuy Gear team members who we call Wingmoms (and Wingdads!) in our GoodBuy Garages. We only sell baby gear and kid gear that is in clean, working condition. And we don’t just sell small kid items: our most popular items are strollers and car seats (yes, you can sell gently used car seats!) For these bigger items like strollers, car seats, bassinets, and breastfeeding gear our quality checks are even more comprehensive. For car seats in particular, we perform more than 30 safety checks through a process designed by our in-house CPST (Child Passenger Safety Technician), Amanda Brown.
How is GoodBuy Gear different?
We are different from peer-to-peer online marketplaces, in that we take in every item we sell and perform extensive quality checks. We then offer both local delivery, curbside pickup, and nationwide shipping. When you sell with us, we operate like other consignment marketplaces: you drop off your baby gear or we pick it up at your home, and we handle the rest! You receive your payout when the item sells.

How Our Buying Process Works
We are unbiased gear experts. We only sell clean and quality-checked products so parents can shop with confidence. In terms of products we sell, we carry the largest selection of the top brands (Uppababy, Bugaboo, Nuna, Doona, Wonderfold are among our top sellers) at an outstanding value. We sell a range of secondhand items - primarily Open Box (the best kept secret in baby and kid gear!), but also Loved, Gently Used, Barely Used, and even Brand New.
We ship nationwide and offer curbside pickup at our GoodBuy Garages.
GoodBuy Gear’s Return Policy
At GoodBuy Gear, we are serious about providing a trustworthy and safe marketplace for parents. That’s why we offer a stress-free guarantee return policy on all orders. If an item arrives and it is not as described just let us know and we’ll be happy to accept a return within 14-days of purchase.
We often get asked, “Why 14 days? Why can’t you offer a longer return policy window?”
And we’ll tell you first off, we totally get it: long return policies are awesome for buyers. At GoodBuy Gear though, parents are the buyers and the sellers. We offer 14 days because we need to balance a great experience for parents who are buying with us as well as parents who are selling their gear with us. Here’s what we mean, directly from Amanda Brown, our head of Customer Care: “Since we are a consignment marketplace, we pay you, the seller, after your gear is delivered to the buyer. The 14 day return period allows the buyer to make sure the gear is what she expects and what was depicted on our site, while still ensuring you as a seller get your earnings promptly.”
How Our Selling Process Works
The process of taking pictures, researching pricing, messaging with strangers, negotiating on price and coordinating a time to meet to exchange money for goods is not only a waste of your valuable time, it’s not always safe.Our selling service removes all that friction by coming straight to your door to pick up your gear. We even negotiate price and list it on our site, so you don’t have to deal with any haggling or sketchy marketplace meetups.
Here’s what to expect:

Sign Up to Sell: Schedule selling service - a pickup or drop-off - at one of our seller locations.

We Sell It: We hand inspect the item and list it on our site. We even recommend pricing, take photos and ship your items to their new home, so you don't have to.

You Get Paid: Once your items sell, you’ll get your payout: up to 90% of the sale price in the form of cash or store credit.
