GoodBuy Gear Sells Open Box, Gently Used, and Loved Baby Gear

Where does GoodBuy Gear get its inventory?

GoodBuy Gear gets the majority of our inventory from brand and retail partners, who work directly with us to inspect and resell their floor models, overstock, and returned inventory. We also receive pre-owned gear from parent sellers.

Is GoodBuy Gear trusted by the baby gear industry?

Absolutely. We work with many of the biggest names in baby and kids gear – UPPAbaby, Stokke, Graco, Mockingbird, Bugaboo, Wonderfold, Radio Flyer, and 50+ more. (See more about our Certified Resale Partners here!) They have each verified our inspection processes and trust us as an extension of their operations team, handling resale on their behalf.

How does GoodBuy Gear ensure secondhand inventory is safe for resale?

Before any piece of baby gear or kid gear is listed for sale on goodbuygear.com, it is quality checked by the Goodbuy Gear team.

Yes, each and every single piece of gear is individually inspected by a human baby gear expert, for multiple minutes at a time. For instance, larger gear like car seats go through 30+ safety checks through the GoodBuy Car Seat Safety Check™ before being deemed safe for resale.

We only sell baby gear and kid gear that is in clean, working condition, and meets strict inspection standards to ensure it is safe to go to a new home.  We work closely with the manufacturers to create check-lists specific to each item to ensure the most thorough, brand-approved inspection possible.

In the case of a recall, our system has an automated alert to immediately remove and remedy any affected products, as well as notify all past customers with relevant information.

Who operates GoodBuy Gear?

GoodBuy Gear was started by two Denver moms in 2016. It is run by CEO and co-founder, Kristin Langenfeld, and operated by an in-person team of baby gear experts (many of whom are parents themselves) who conduct inspections on each and every piece of gear in our warehouse. Our inspections protocol is run by our in-house CPST (Child Passenger Safety Technician) Amanda Brown.

GoodBuy Gear was born out of a personal pain point experienced by our founders, Denver moms Kristin Langenfeld and Jessica Crothers. Kristin and Jessica grew frustrated with the archaic process that existed for buying and selling used kid items - especially bigger-ticket items like strollers, double strollers, car seats and bassinets, where quality really matters - so they did something about it. We’re now the leading online marketplace for secondhand baby and kid gear.
