The main difference between the Nuna MIXX Next vs. the UPPAbaby VISTA V2 is the size of the strollers and how many little ones they can accommodate. The UPPAbaby Vista V2 has a larger footprint, but can accommodate up to three kiddos, whereas the Nuna MIXX Next only accommodates a single tot. The UPPAbaby Vista V2 is also significantly more expensive than the Nuna Mixx Next—about $550 if you buy new and about $325 if you shop open box with GoodBuy Gear.

The UPPAbaby Vista V2 is a popular choice for good reason—and a stroller I’ve had since it first came out in 2020. For starters, it’s a sleek stroller—complete with leatherette handlebars—that feels like an accessory of sorts. It comes in plenty of colors to choose from, too. (Though, ultimately, I went with the go-with-anything black.)

Although the aesthetics are a definite draw, there’s much more to it than that. The biggest selling point for me was the fact that, even though a pricey option, it was more likely to be a one-and-done purchase for me—I wanted to have more kids rather quickly, and loved the fact that the Vista could accommodate a second seated kiddo, plus a third on a riding board called the Piggyback.

The stroller can be used from birth with the bassinet or the brand’s infant car seat, the UPPAbaby Mesa car seat (a merino wool all-season seat). You don’t even need any adapters if you’re strolling with a single little one. Once you convert the stroller to a double, the attachments are sold separately for a nominal cost. Just note: The Vista V2 doesn’t come with the rumble seat (what it calls the second toddler seat), so be sure to factor that cost into the overall price, too.

In addition to its versatility, the has a lot of enviable features, including a one-handed, one-step standing fold and an extra-large storage basket. There are also a whole host of compatible products you can buy to trick out your stroller. Some of my favorites include a parent caddy, a snack tray and a cup holder. The travel bag is also key to prevent damage, if you plane to fly with your stroller.

Overall, the Vista is a great everyday stroller that provides a smooth ride. Though a bit heavy, I can pretty easily toss it into the trunk of my car to use while out on errands. The only time I’ve ever had trouble with the stroller is on rougher terrain like gravel roads and uneven grass fields—you really need a quality jogger for these kinds of activities.

The Nuna MIXX Next is the most popular stroller the luxury brand offers, and our gear experts say it’s a worthy choice—especially for families who only have one kiddo who needs a stroller seat.

Although it’s a single stroller and doesn’t have a compatible ride-on board, it’s more compact than the UPPAbaby Vista. It’s also newborn-ready when you recline the stroller seat to the true-flat position, so you won’t have to fumble with extras like a bassinet or infant car seat. That said, it is compatible with Nuna PIPA infant car seats—in case you prefer not to transfer your little one for one reason or another (like when they’re sleeping).

Interestingly, the Nuna stroller is about a pound heavier than the Vista, but parents say it’s a hardly noticeable difference that can be attributed to the improved maneuverability and better-performing all-terrain wheels on the stroller.

Like the UPPAbaby Vista V2, the Nuna MIXX Next has an easy one-hand, one-step fold, plus stands upright in the folded position. It also has many of the same enviable features: a large storage basket and an extendable UPF 50+ canopy, for example. And if you want extras to make your stroller as comfortable and convenient as possible, you can buy items like a cup holder, snack tray and travel bag.

Particular about colors and style? You’ll be just as happy with Nuna’s choices, which include 11 solid and patterned choices—all of which have premium seat fabrics and leather-accented handlebars and armbars.

Both the UPPAbaby Vista V2 and the Nuna MIXX Next are high-quality strollers with plenty of added features like a five-point harness, large UPF 50+ sun canopies, roomy storage baskets and more. That said, it’s not easy to declare a true winner—each stroller has a few features the other doesn’t. For example, the UPPAbaby Vista V2 has a fully reversible seat (use it forward or rear-facing), while the Nuna MIXX Next has parent conveniences like a cell phone pocket on seat back and a two-compartment storage basket complete with a secret zipper pocket.

Fold/Unfold 

Both the UPPAbaby Vista V2 and the Nuna MIXX Next are exceptionally easy to fold—and both stand when folded, making it easier to stash the stroller in the trunk or a storage closet. What’s more, the fabrics don’t touch the floor when folded, so you don’t have to worry about the seat getting dirty. Where the MIXX Next wins out? It’s about 5 inches more compact when folded.

Car Seat Compatibility 

Both the UPPAbaby Vista V2 and the Nuna MIXX Next are compatible with some infant car seats, but the UPPAbaby is much more flexible. The brand’s own Mesa infant car seat clicks in seamlessly—no adapters necessary—but, with car seat adapters, is also compatible with brands like Nuna, Cybex, Maxi-Cosi, Clek, Peg-Perego and Chicco (adapters sold separately). The Nuna MIXX Next is only compatible with the brand’s own PIPA series of car seats.

The most pressing question to ask yourself is whether you’re satisfied with a single stroller—or if you think you’ll need a double stroller down the line.

Parents with multiple kiddos (or plans to add more in quick succession) love that a single investment can give them so much flexibility. Seats can be configured in multiple ways, including both forward- and rear-facing. Families also love the adapter-free car seat compatibility with the UPPAbaby MESA, as well as features like a standing fold and large storage basket.
